Countess Karoline Apponyi de Nagy-Appony (1814–1886) was a member of the prominent Hungarian Apponyi family, one of the most influential aristocratic lineages of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. She lived during a transformative period in Central European history, witnessing the political upheavals and cultural developments of the nineteenth century.

Karoline maintained the traditions and social standing of her noble family throughout her life. She was interred in the Collalto Vault, reflecting her family's distinguished status and their connections to the broader European nobility of her era.
