Grant Goodrich

Biography

Grant Goodrich, born in 1811, was a longstanding witness to Chicago’s evolution from frontier town to bustling metropolis. He was recognized by friends and neighbors as a conscientious citizen who contributed to civic life through steady work and thoughtful participation in community affairs.

When he passed in 1889, Goodrich was remembered for a life marked by perseverance and quiet generosity, and he now rests among other pioneers at Rosehill Cemetery.
