Biography

Granville G. Bennett brought his legal mind to the frontier, serving as a territorial delegate and later as a judge who sought fair treatment for settlers and the Native peoples of the upper Midwest.

He valued education and thoughtful debate, and those who knew him recall a steady, principled presence whose counsel helped shape the emerging institutions around Mount Moriah Cemetery where he now rests.
