Greenlief T. Stevens

Biography

Greenlief T. Stevens was born in 1831 and spent his long life near the hills that now cradle Woodside Cemetery, where he was laid to rest. He took pleasure in observing the progress of the community, offering encouragement to neighbors as they built schools, farms, and churches.

His warm sense of humor and faithful attendance at local gatherings endeared him to many, and he was often the one to steady discussions with a thoughtful word or reassuring smile.
