Biography
Grigoriy Maksimovich Sokolov was a resident of Maloyaroslavets who lived through the early decades of Soviet history. Born in 1912, he experienced the transformative and often turbulent events of the early twentieth century.
Sokolov's life was cut short in 1941, during the opening stages of the German invasion of the Soviet Union. His death marked the beginning of the enormous losses that would characterize the Great Patriotic War.
