Biography
Guillaume-François Bruneau was a French official who served as receiver general of finances from 1787 to 1837. His career spanned the tumultuous transition from the Old Regime through the Revolutionary and Napoleonic periods into the Restoration.
As a financial administrator, Bruneau played an important role in the management of state resources during one of France's most transformative centuries. His long life and career reflected the resilience of those who served the French state through decades of profound change. He was honored with burial at Père Lachaise Cemetery.
