Biography
Gurdon Saltonstall Hubbard spent a lifetime exploring the American frontier, transforming the fur trade and paving the way for new settlements across the Midwest. A pioneer with an unshakeable will, he bridged worlds between Native American neighbors and incoming settlers, always mindful of the delicate balance of frontier life.
Hubbard’s foresight helped bring infrastructure and commerce to burgeoning communities, and his name became synonymous with courage and perseverance. He now rests at Graceland Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of enterprise and resilience.
