Gustave Le Bon
1841–1931 (age 90)
Biography
Gustave Le Bon brought his medical training to bear on his fascination with crowds, popular psychology, and the development of civilizations, writing bestsellers such as The Crowd that defined a new field of social analysis while remaining deeply curious about anthropology and the history of races.
He travelled widely in search of insight, shared his observations generously with readers across Europe, and was laid to rest at Père Lachaise, where his contributions to social thought continue to be remembered.
