Biography

Gustavus Weems (1779–1852) lived through the founding era of the United States and into the nineteenth century, witnessing the nation's early development and growth. His long life of seventy-three years spanned from the Revolutionary period through the early decades of American independence.

He was laid to rest at Tracys Landing, a location that marks his connection to the communities he inhabited and the legacy he left behind for those who would remember him.
