Guy Fontanet
1927–2014 (age 87)
Biography
Guy Fontanet defended his clients with a calm assurance born of a long apprenticeship in law, and he returned again and again to the guiding principle that justice is best served when counsel is both firm and compassionate.
Beyond the courtroom he supported charitable causes in Chêne-Bougeries, constantly reminding colleagues and young lawyers that a legal life should also be measured by how it uplifts the vulnerable, and his grave remains a quiet place of reflection for those he helped.
