Biography

Gyula Greguss (1829–1869) was a Hungarian naturalist whose scientific work contributed to the advancement of natural history and scientific knowledge in 19th-century Hungary. His investigations and observations reflected the growing importance of empirical science and natural philosophy in Hungarian intellectual life.

Greguss's career as a naturalist positioned him among the scientific figures who helped establish modern scientific practice in Hungary. He was interred in the Fiume Road Graveyard, joining other prominent intellectuals and professionals of his generation in this significant burial site.
