H. James Shea Jr., born in 1939, was a lawyer and advocate whose eloquence made him a powerful voice for civil rights and an early opponent of the Vietnam War, inspiring young people through public testimony and impassioned speeches.
He worked tirelessly to expand civic dialogue and bridge campus activism with legislative reform, a courageous spirit laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in 1970.
