Biography
Hamilton Harty rose from a Belfast upbringing to become a celebrated composer and conductor, bringing warmth to song cycles, orchestral music, and the premiering of works by Irish contemporaries.
As musical director of the Hallé Orchestra and a tireless advocate for the Irish repertoire, he left a legacy of refined performances that continue to be honoured at Saint Malachy Church of Ireland Churchyard.
