Biography
Hanan Rubin (1908–1962) was a Berlin-born lawyer who made aliyah in the 1930s and became a leading Mapam deputy in the first Knesset, championing social welfare, education, and civil rights from the parliamentary benches. His legal background gave him a steady voice in debates over citizens’ protections and labor policies, and he became a trusted mediator in the coalition politics of the day.
After leaving the Knesset he continued to work for the ideals that guided him, and he is remembered for his integrity and gentle manner; he is buried in Kiryat Shaul Cemetery.
