Hannchen Levy

Biography

Hannchen Levy (1770–1826) was a member of Berlin's Jewish community during the early 19th century. She lived through a significant period in the history of German-Jewish society and was interred at the Jüdischer Friedhof Berlin-Mitte, an important burial ground for the community.

Levy's life of 56 years spanned the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a time of considerable social and legal change for Jewish communities in Prussia. Her burial at this cemetery reflects her connection to Berlin's established Jewish population.
