Biography
Hans Christian Cornelius Mortensen brought science and wonder into the classroom, pioneering natural history instruction and inspiring students to observe the natural world directly. His work in ringing birds laid foundations for modern ornithology and showed how teaching and fieldwork could coexist.
Always generous with his time, Mortensen shared stories from expeditions and encouraged curiosity, a spirit now at rest in Viborg Cemetery.
