Biography
Hans Gude painted luminous landscapes that captured fjords, forests, and the shifting light of Norway, helping to define the country’s visual identity in the national romantic era.
As a teacher and mentor he guided generations of artists, and his own resting place among the graves at Vår Frelsers gravlund keeps his spirit close to the land he revered.
