Biography

Harlan Erwin Mitchell devoted his life to public service, serving as a U.S. Representative from Georgia where he worked to ensure that rural and urban citizens alike had access to educational and economic opportunity. He carried the perspective of a World War II veteran and a lawyer into Congress, earning respect from colleagues for his measured voice and commitment to fairness.
