Harmanus P. Schuyler

Biography

Harmanus P. Schuyler (1769-1822) was born during the American Revolution and came of age in the early years of the United States. As a member of the prominent Schuyler family of Albany, he was part of a lineage deeply connected to the region's commercial, political, and social life.

Schuyler's relatively brief life of fifty-three years was lived during a period of rapid change and development in the new nation. He was interred in Albany Rural Cemetery, joining generations of his family in this significant burial ground.
