Harold Parker

Biography

Harold Parker (1892–1917) was an Australian rules football player whose athletic talents brought joy and excitement to his community before the demands of war altered the course of his life. His participation in this beloved sport connected him to the cultural traditions of Australia and the camaraderie of athletic competition.

Parker's life was cut short in 1917 at the age of twenty-five when he fell during the First World War. He was laid to rest at Rue-Petillon Military Cemetery, where his memory is honored as both an athlete and a soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice.
