Biography
Harriet Chord carried herself with grace and quiet determination through the latter half of the nineteenth century, earning the admiration of fellow inhabitants of South Bend for her generosity and kindness. Though the public record may not fully describe her daily labors, her presence was a gift to the circles she moved within.
She is laid to rest in South Bend City Cemetery, where her memory lives on through stories told by loved ones and the legacy of goodwill she left behind.
