Biography

Harrison Gray Otis rose to national prominence as the publisher of the Los Angeles Times, using the newspaper to promote civic improvements and to champion the growth of the young city. He also encouraged real estate development and the construction of modern infrastructure, helping Los Angeles imagine its future.

His leadership in journalism and public affairs left a lasting imprint on Southern California before he was interred at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
