Biography

Harry Lee Doll answered a call to ministry that led him to shepherd congregations and later the Episcopal Diocese of Washington. Known for his thoughtful preaching, he encouraged ecumenical dialogue and served as a calming voice during the social transformations of mid-century America.

He prized pastoral care, supporting clergy and lay leaders as they worked to meet the spiritual needs of a growing and diverse flock. His influence endures in the diocesan programs he helped nurture, and he rests at St. Thomas Church.
