Biography
Harry Van Arsdale, Jr. (1905–1986) helped build New York labor from the shop floor, rising to lead the New York City Central Labor Council and Local 3 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, where he guided negotiations that strengthened wages and benefits for tens of thousands of members.
He believed in apprenticeship, political engagement, and community service, leaving a legacy of solidarity that endures beyond his resting place at St. John Cemetery.
