Biography

Hasso von Hugo (1897–1945) was a German painter whose artistic practice reflected the turbulent cultural and political landscape of early twentieth-century Germany. His work contributed to the visual arts discourse of the Weimar and Nazi periods.

Von Hugo's career spanned a transformative era in German art history. Though his life was cut short in 1945, his artistic legacy remains part of the historical record of German painting. He was interred at New Cemetery, Potsdam.
