Hattori Nakatsune

Biography

Hattori Nakatsune (1757–1824) was a distinguished figure of the late Edo period whose life spanned nearly seven decades of Japanese history. His long life allowed him to witness and contribute to the cultural developments of his era, and he was ultimately laid to rest at the venerable Seigan-ji Temple, a testament to his standing in society.

Nakatsune's sixty-seven years of life encompassed a period of relative stability and cultural flourishing in Japan. His burial at Seigan-ji Temple reflects the respect and regard in which he was held by his family and community throughout his lifetime.
