Biography

Henri Brisson was a lawyer of considerable standing who played a role in the legal and civic life of France during the nineteenth century. Born in 1835, he practiced law during a period of significant legal and constitutional development in French society.

Brisson's legal career reflected the professionalization and modernization of the French legal system during the latter half of the nineteenth century. He was laid to rest in Montmartre Cemetery in 1912, having contributed to the legal profession and civic institutions of his nation.
