Biography

Henry Augustus Pilsbry, born in 1862, devoted his life to the study of mollusks, carefully cataloging species and sharing the wonder of nature’s smaller forms with the world. His meticulous work inspired generations of naturalists to appreciate the delicate intricacies of the living globe.

He closed his own chapter in 1957 and lies at Saint Asaph Church Cemetery, honored for his generosity of mind and the meticulous curiosity that guided so much of his work.
