Biography
Henry Franklin Thomas began his career in Michigan as a lawyer and Civil War volunteer before returning home to serve as county prosecutor and eventually in the United States Congress. In Washington he championed railroad regulation, agricultural interests, and the needs of small towns, never forgetting the constituents who trusted him.
After leaving office he remained a respected voice in Lapeer County, where his dignified temperament and commitment to justice are recalled by family and friends now laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery.
