Henry Holmes Croft

Biography

Henry Holmes Croft was born in 1820 and found a special calling in building bridges between new arrivals and established families in the San Diego area, always mindful of the desert's quiet grace and the value of shared stories.

He upheld that spirit until his death in 1883, encouraging civic cooperation and nurturing friendships that crossed cultural lines; he now rests in San Diego Cemetery, where desert breezes whisper his name.
