Biography

Henry Hope (1807–1862) was a prominent English businessman whose career reflected the commercial dynamism of the nineteenth century. Operating during the height of the Industrial Revolution, Hope would have been involved in mercantile or manufacturing enterprises that characterized the period's economic expansion. His residence at Deepdene House in Surrey suggests considerable wealth and social standing.
