Biography

Henry Knox was born in 1750 and distinguished himself as a military officer and government official of considerable importance during the founding era of the United States. His service to the nation during the Revolutionary War and in the early republic earned him respect and recognition as a leader of integrity and capability.

Knox's fifty-six years of life were marked by dedicated service to his country in both military and civilian capacities. He was laid to rest in Thomaston Village Cemetery, a place of honor befitting a man whose contributions to American independence and the establishment of the new nation were substantial and enduring.
