Henry P. Ayres (1813–1887) lived much of his life in the Lindenwood area, cultivating a reputation for sincerity and civic-mindedness that inspired those around him. A familiar figure at town gatherings and neighborhood benevolent efforts, he took pride in lending stability to a growing community.
