Henry R. Jackson

Biography

Henry R. Jackson (1820-1898) embraced a life of public service, working as a lawyer, soldier, and diplomat while always returning to a heartfelt love for his native Georgia. His clarity of thought and commitment to duty guided him through responsibilities both at home and abroad.

He spent his later years reflecting on the lessons of history and encouraging the next generation to approach civic life with integrity. Henry is interred at Bonaventure Cemetery, where his memory is honored for steadfast leadership and a gracious spirit.
