Henry Sergeant

Biography

Henry Sergeant (1782–1824) came of age during the early years of the American republic and represented a generation born after independence. His life, though relatively brief, occurred during a period of significant national development and expansion.

Sergeant's final resting place at Laurel Hill Cemetery reflects his standing in his community. Though his years were few, he lived during one of the most dynamic periods in American history, a time of growth and possibility.
