Biography

Henry T. Ellett (1812-1887) built his reputation as a thoughtful lawyer and judge, guarding the rule of law in Mississippi with a register of fairness that earned him the respect of jurors and colleagues alike.

He took great satisfaction in mentoring younger attorneys and in helping the people around him interpret the often complicated demands of justice, and he lies at Elmwood Cemetery where his integrity continues to inspire.
