Biography
Henry V. Boynton served as a Union officer from Ohio who fought bravely and later turned to journalism to chronicle the nation’s history, writing widely read accounts of the Civil War and its leaders.
He also was a tireless advocate for memorializing the conflict, helping to preserve key battlefields and soldier cemeteries, and he was buried at Arlington National Cemetery among those he helped honor.
