Henry Wheatland, long associated with Salem, Massachusetts, was the first librarian of the Peabody Academy of Science and a devoted naturalist who curated collections that introduced countless residents to the wonders of geology and botany.

He also served the city in civic office, steered public education initiatives, and his enduring commitment to learning is honored at Harmony Grove Cemetery.
