Biography

Herbert Norkus (1916–1932) was a young German whose life was cut tragically short. Though he lived only sixteen years, his brief existence occurred during a pivotal and turbulent period in German history.

Norkus's memory is preserved in Berlin, where he lived and died. His story represents the countless young lives affected by the circumstances of early 20th-century Germany.
