Biography

Hermann Kallenbach, born 1871, was an architect whose designs reflected both European training and a devotion to the ideals of the Jewish people, deepening his ties to the land of Israel and sustaining a lifelong friendship with Mohandas Gandhi that celebrated simplicity and brotherhood.

He spent his final years in Israel, where he remained a generous friend to cultural and social causes until his passing in 1945, leaving behind structures and stories that still inspire.
