Biography
Hillman Howard Sersland, born in 1906, found great fulfillment serving his Washington Prairie Lutheran Church, greeting each worshipper with warm hospitality and encouraging others to live out their faith through acts of kindness. He also lent support to community events, always ready to lend his voice to a hymn or a welcoming word.
As he grew older, Hillman treasured the simple rituals of the congregation and the friendships they fostered, and when he died in 1985 his loved ones honored him at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church Cemetery, where his legacy of gentle service endures.
