Hiram Barton

Biography

Hiram Barton (1810–1880) held the office of Buffalo’s mayor in the early 1850s, using his leadership to promote harbor improvements and to navigate the city through early railroad development.

In later years he remained a trusted advisor in business matters and civic causes, and he was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
