Hiram F. Stevens
1852–1904 (age 52)
Biography
Hiram F. Stevens was admired for his conscientious attention to the local affairs entrusted to him, whether he was lending advice, mentoring youth, or stepping forward when a steady hand was required. He believed that public service could be an expression of gratitude, and he carried that belief into every relationship and obligation.
His neighbors remember a man of generosity who did not seek praise but simply aimed to leave the neighborhood better than he found it, and he rests at Greenwood Cemetery where friends still gather to honor him.
