Biography

Howard Carter (1874–1939) was an Egyptologist whose meticulous study of ancient tombs culminated in the extraordinary discovery of Tutankhamun's resting place. His dedication to careful excavation and respect for the artifacts he uncovered set a high standard for archaeology.

Throughout his career he welcomed scholars to share in the excitement of the find, and he now lies in Putney Vale Cemetery where his legacy continues to inspire curiosity about the ancient world.
