Biography

Howie Camnitz took the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates and other clubs in the early twentieth century, his right arm delivering consistent work that helped define an era of baseball before the sport's mass modern popularity.

After hanging up his glove he returned to his hometown region, where he continued to coach youth and encourage the next generation of players while cherishing time with family; he rests at Cave Hill Cemetery.
