Biography
Born into Galicia's multiethnic tapestry, Hryhorii Kupchanko devoted himself to ethnological fieldwork among Ruthenian, Romanian, and German-speaking villagers, recording their songs, tales, and customs.
His notebooks and publications helped bridge cultural understanding between the capital and the countryside, so that Vienna came to better appreciate the richness of Carpathian folk life.
