Biography
Hugh Glasgow rose from Pennsylvania farming roots to represent his neighbors in both the state legislature and in the United States Congress, where he worked to keep tariffs fair and commerce flowing through the young republic.
When he left Capitol Hill he returned to Slate Ridge, tending his fields, hosting community gatherings, and remaining a steady interlocutor for the region's farmers until the end of his days.
