Hutson Benedict Colman

Biography

Hutson Benedict Colman, born in 1855, embraced the responsibilities of a growing Mountain Home, helping to keep civic conversations grounded even as the town expanded.

He treated fellow citizens with respect, bending a willing shoulder to a neighbor in need, and when he died in 1917 the community honored the man whose integrity seemed as certain as the mountains above them.
