Hynek Zavřel was a Czech resident of Kroměříž, Moravia, born in 1889. He lived through one of the most transformative periods in Central European history, witnessing the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the establishment of the Czechoslovak state.
Zavřel's life spanned nearly nine decades, encompassing the major historical upheavals of the twentieth century. He passed away in 1976, having lived through the founding and development of modern Czechoslovakia.
