Biography

Ichiryūsai Yoshitoyo was a distinguished painter of the Edo and early Meiji periods, contributing to Japan's rich artistic heritage during a time of cultural transition. His work reflected the aesthetic sensibilities of nineteenth-century Japanese art.

Yoshitoyo's artistic legacy was preserved in memory, with his remains interred at Moto-Asakusa following his death in 1866, a year that marked significant changes in Japanese society and culture.
